VinylBid's guidelines for the listing
of items on its website is properly outlined in its User
Agreement. To better aid our members, we created
this section to serve as a quick reference guide of our auction policy.
The structure of this document is in the form of particular situations,
along with VinylBid's policies on the matter in each respective case.
Fee Evasion
Any auction which offers in its
item description duplicate, different, or additional items for sale
aside from those specified in the auction title, will be automatically
deleted from our auction database. All Dutch auction items must be identical
(the size, color, make, and model all must be the same for each item.)
The offending party shall also receive a warning notice from VinylBid's
Security Squad. Any subsequent offences shall result in a 30 day suspension
and/or expulsion from the VinylBid Community.
Listings which have a URL, domain name
or e-mail address in the title
Any auction listing which carries
in its title a domain name, URL or e-mail address shall be automatically
deleted by the Security Squad, along with a warning notice sent via
e-mail to the offending party. Subsequent offences shall result in a
30 day suspension and/or expulsion from the VinylBid community.
Non-Selling Seller
A situation in which the seller refuses to sell the item to the winning
bidder of the auction and/or does not give the bidder back their payment;
such situations will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by the VinylBid
Security Squad, and could potentially have penalties as high as an immediate
expulsion from the VinylBid community (in the case of repeat offences).
Improper Category Listing
A situation in which the seller inadvertently places the item in the
wrong category using VinylBid's categorization scheme. This is not,
strictly speaking, an offence; however it is VinylBid's policy that
such listings shall remain on our website, and shall not have the listing
fee refunded. The seller assumes all responsibility for ensuring that
the listing has been correctly prepared, and that the auction description
represents an accurate portrayal of the item being sold.
Infringing Items
Any listing on the VinylBid website
that attempts to sell an item which is in direct violation of the User
agreement; this includes (but is not restricted to) any items containing
racist hate literature, child pornography, or items which are simply
not consistent with any of the categories or products which VinylBid
allows users to sell on its website. The Security Squad will deal with
any of these incidents, should any arise, on a case-by-case basis and
can issue either:
The Security Squad uses a set of guidelines
to assess the nature of these incidents in a fair and objective manner.
Third Party Advertisements
VinylBid shall allow any listing with a small and not overly obtrusive
identification of a third party AUCTION OR PAYMENT SERVICE to be listed
in conjunction with an auction listing. The identification of the third
party service can only be in the form of a 200 x 50 (or less) pixel
logo or text display, and can only be for a third party which provides
a service relating to auction services. It cannot contain any promotional
information, or information about any other internet auction venues.
Any listing which violates the terms of this agreement will be subject
to a warning and/or 30 day suspension, and is to be evaluated on a case-by-case
basis by the VinylBid Security Squad.
