As a buyer, or an individual simply browsing our directories of listings, use of the VinylBid website is absolutely free!

As a seller, however, VinylBid charges a fee for the services which it provides. There are three (3) main fees that sellers can accrue as a result of using our site's auction listing capabilities. They are:

• Listing Fees
  A seller pays a flat rate of only $0.25 US to list an item on our website, regardless of the item's opening amount, or the duration of the auction. This fee is non-refundable.
• Closing Fees
  The closing fee is the amount sellers pay VinylBid as a commission of the final sale price of their item. It is only applied if the item is sold on our website. For a detailed breakdown of our Closing Fees, see the Fees Schedule below. In addition, this fee will only be credited back to a seller under specific circumstances; consult the Credits section below.
• Extras
  These are non-refundable fees which sellers pay VinylBid for the use of any "extras" to help promote their auction listing. This includes the use of our image hosting service, as well as any special icons or features (such as boldface, featured item listing, etc.) Check our Fees Schedule below for specific charges.

How does VinylBid charge me for my fees?

In order to be able to sell items through the VinylBid community, a registered member must submit valid credit card information through our secure credit card submission form (hyperlink). Once the seller's credit card information has been submitted, we keep it on file in order to charge the seller for the fees accrued by the use of our services. VinylBid charges sellers any applicable fees on a monthly basis, usually on the first week of every month, for the fees accrued in the previous month.

Fees Schedule

The following section is a breakdown of the Fees Schedule (Closing Fees and Extras) sellers are charged for using the services provided by VinylBid.
(There is a flat $0.25 US non-refundable Listing Fee applied to every auction listing.)

Closing Fees

If your item has been sold, here's how we calculate your Closing Fee:

1. We take the first $50 of your closing price (i.e., the amount your item has been sold for), and calculate 5% of that. If your item was sold for $50 or less, 5% is your closing fee.
2. If your final value was more than $50, we take the additional amount which is above $50, from $50.01 to $2,000, and calculate 2.2% of this amount.
3. If your closing price was more than $2,000, we take that additional amount above $2000 and calculate 1.25% of this amount.
4. We add these amounts together, and this is your closing fee.

Note: In the case of a Dutch Auction, we calculate your closing fee by taking your closing price to be the lowest price at which an item was sold multiplied by the number of items sold. We then perform the above steps on this amount (ie, we take this amount to be your closing price) to calculate your closing fee.

Extras

• Featured Item Listing
  This is for the listing of an item in our special "Featured Items" section appearing at the very top within a category's listings. You also receive a special "Featured Item" icon next to your listing title.
• Boldface Title
  Your listing will feature a boldface title, which will stand out amongst all of the other listings featured on a page in our website. This is sure to draw more attention to your item, leaving you with more bids and a higher final price.
• WishList Response Icon
  Use this icon when posting an item for sale that you have seen requested on the WishList. This will attract the attention of buyers who are specifically looking for those hard-to-find or high-in-demand items. Additionally, buyers can limit their search specifically to WishList Response items.
• Record Crate Icon
  This icon, to be used when a seller intends on selling a "bulk" quantity of records as a single item, will notify members who are looking to buy records as a package (note: this is not the same as a Dutch Auction.)
• Sound Clip Icon
  This icon, to be used when a seller has included an audio URL link within their auction description, will attract the attention of buyers who want to get a preview of a song before they buy it.
• Flag Icon
  This icon, representing the country in which the album being sold was produced, will attract the attention of buyers looking specifically for items which are only available locally as imports, thus allowing productions from, say, the U.K. or Japan to reach an American market quicker. (please notify us of other countries you feel should be represented; we have included flags of what we know to be major markets.)
• Gallery Icon
  Choosing this option will place the camera icon beside a listing's title; your item will also be displayed when buyers filter their search only for those items that have an image in the item description (Note: your item won't be displayed in Gallery search results even if you do place an image in your item description, unless you choose this option.)
• Image Hosting Service
  This is the fee which sellers pay to use VinylBid's image hosting service. This enables sellers to quickly upload their image(s) to VinylBid's servers rather than having to seek other image hosting options.

Credits

Only one type of fee, the Closing Fee, is refundable to a seller in certain situations.

VinylBid will only credit your seller's account for your closing fee if you have correctly followed the step-by-step instructions set out in the Non-Paying Bidder Policy. Any deviation from these instructions may result in the loss of credit to your account.

VinylBid will only issue credit in an instance where:

• The winning bidder backed out of the transaction
• The winning bidder refused the item
• The winning bidder could not be contacted
• The item was damaged/destroyed prior to shipping, and the winning bidder and seller mutually agreed to back out of the transaction (verified by the Security Squad)
• The winning bidder's check bounced (or a stop payment was made) and he/she refused to send further payment.

VinylBid's Security Squad will investigate these instances on a case-by-case basis.

Our policy on refunds is as follows: If the closing fee for your item is less than or equal to $10 US, and you have correctly followed the rules of the Non-Paying Bidder Policy, we will credit this amount to your seller's account (to be used as credit towards any future listings, extras, etc.). If the amount is over $10 US, we will charge the full amount back to your credit card.
