is the WishList? | The WishList
is VinylBid's way of acting as a mediator between buyers and sellers, allowing
buyers to make requests for specific items they are looking for, while at the
same time letting sellers gauge what particular items are currently in demand.

| How
does the WishList work |
The WishList is a database comprised of all of
the requests made by both VinylBid members and non-members who are looking for
particular items, and is divided into two main sections: Music and Gear. If
you are looking for a particular album, simply fill out the bottom Add Wish
form with all of the relevant information such as the artist name, song title,
format, etc. and choose the appropriate category and style from the drop down
menus. Similarly, if you are looking
for a particular piece of equipment, you can input the make, model as well as
choosing the category your item belongs to from the drop down menus. You can also
add any comments you think are necessary, in order to make mention of any important
details for which you are looking. If
you are a seller, and are either curious to see what is currently in demand, or
have a particular item you want to sell, fill in the relevant details in the top
Browse section of the WishList and click on the "Go!" button.
When browsing for music wishes, for instance, you must indicate at least a top-level
category criteria (e.g. Jazz) and either a particular style within that category,
or choose the "All Styles" option to search the entire top-level category.
You do not have to enter any other criteria when browsing, as leaving such fields
blank will display ALL wishes within the category. Be sure to read any of the
relevant comments buyers have left about their requests. If
you are a buyer, it is advisable that you fill in as many of the fields as possible
within the Add Wish box, so as to maximize the chance of your wish being
found and fulfilled. |
| Does
it cost anything to use the WishList? | Use
of the WishList is free to all members and nonmembers of the VinylBid community.
Nonmembers, however, must register with VinylBid in order to sell items they see
requested on the WishList, as well as to participate in any current auctions.

| How
long does a request stay in the WishList database? | VinylBid
updates its WishList on a 2-month basis. This means that after a 2-month period
has passed, your request will expire from our database. You can always come back
and re-enter a wish if you have been unable to obtain your item in this 2-month
period. |
| How
many wishes can I post? | Currently,
VinylBid does not limit the number of wishes an individual may input into the
WishList. If, however, the system is found to be abused, appropriate action will
be taken by VinylBid staff to ensure a positive experience for all users of the
WishList feature. |
| I've
found a wish that matches an item I have! Now what? | If
you have found a request for an item that you own, and decide to post the item
for auction on our site, remember to add the special "WishList Response" icon
 (at no charge) to
your listing so that buyers can easily locate your item. Items with the "WishList
Response" icon are sure to receive greater traffic and bids than others. |
| I've
placed a wish on the WishList. Now what? | If
you have already placed a wish on our WishList, you can begin to search for your
requested item through VinylBid's advanced search features.
First, go to the Advanced
Search page by clicking on the "Search"
button at the top of the VinylBid navigation console. Enter all of the relevant
information within the top box on the advanced search page, as well as choosing
the appropriate category your item belongs to from the drop down menus. To refine
your search even further, you can also click on the "Show WishList
Response items only" option, which will allows you to
search only for items in your category which have been posted as a response to
a WishList request. |
| Do
I need to pay extra to place the WishList Response icon next to my auction listing?
| No.
If your item is in response to a wish on the VinylBid WishList, you can include
this special icon () on your
item's listing at no additional cost. This serves a dual purpose: it allows buyers
who have requested your item to find it easily, while at the same time attracting
attention to your item. |
